Description
US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team at Memorial Cardiology Associates in Houston, TX
Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service to every patient, whether in person or via telephone in a professional and timely manner, determining their needs and responding accordingly.
Address emails, voicemails, tasks, and faxes daily in a timely and efficient manner.
Safeguard the privacy of patient health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
Schedule patient appointments in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring optimal utilization of office resources.
Confirm patient appointments and follow-up as necessary.
Respond to patient referral requests within 48 hours.
Enter authorization information into the patient account in the system.
Maintain patient information confidentially and in accordance with legal and office standards.
Travel to other locations.
Print patients' medication lists prior to triage.
Ensure that the work area and lobby are always neat and orderly.
Attend required meetings and actively participate in committees as needed.
Obtain and accurately enter patient demographic and insurance information into the patient registration system.
Obtain signed financial policies and HIPAA authorization forms for all new and annual patients.
Verify insurance coverage and document benefits information.
Collect patient payments per office policies.
Prepare daily deposits for office co-pays collected.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of reception or medical office experience.
Experience in cardiology is a plus.
Proficiency with E-Clinical Works or similar Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software.
Bilingual (preferred but not required).
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, staff, and visitors.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of medical insurance verification and office billing procedures is a plus.
