Dedicated to serving those who defend the US and warfighters, Nisga’a MOSTT offers Military Operations support and Specialized Tactical Training (MOSTT). Nisga’a MOSTT’s services include aviation and military training, cybersecurity, intelligence gathering and analysis, and simulation and exercise support, as well as aviation flight logistics support and unmanned aerial vehicle support.  

 

Summary:

Nisga'a MOSTT is seeking an experienced and committed Medical Instructor to join the team at Special Operations Center for Medical Integration & Development (SOCMID). SOCMID plays a critical role in the preparation of Air Force Special Operations Command Medics for United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Medical Instructors provide students with extensive didactic and practical medical education and sustainment training. This training ensures medical skills sustainment for Pararescuemen (PJs) and Special Operations Independent Medical Technicians (SO-IDMTs) supporting Special Operations mission sets with enhanced trauma, surgical, and medical skills. Medical Instructors prepare graduates to perform emergency medical treatments and provide medical care at various levels in challenging and harsh environments or situations where they may be the only available medical professional.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Instructors at SOCMID shall train students to independently perform lifesaving emergency medical services in austere battlefield conditions worldwide. This training includes, but is not limited to:
    • Advanced medical procedures
    • Trauma management
    • Surgical procedures
    • Prolonged casualty care
    • Management of topical medicine
    • Small unit care
  •  Assist in the design of learning objectives and assessment instruments to include quizzes, end of course exams, and meaningful interactions
  • Assist in the creation and design of course content using eLearning authoring tools
  • Conduct small and large group instruction in a variety of formats to include didactic lecture, field training exercises, and trauma lanes
  • Conduct and document formative evaluation during each phase of instruction
  • Utilize all learning management platforms and document sharing technology as dictated by SOCMID.
  • Assist in the teaching of new and affiliate instructors
  • Prepare students and other instructors to interface with training on new tools (software and hardware)
  • Utilize and assist in the use of training simulation to include low-/high-fidelity mannequins and virtual reality devices during the course of instructional responsibilities
  • Assist with the development, update, and validation of external organizations' learning objectives and Critical Task List (CTL) to ensure all pertinent tasks are identified to meet training objectives
Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have the ability to work both in a collaborative team environment and independently
  • Must be able to lift >75 pounds and move human patient simulation equipment to and from training areas, work in low-light, high-volume environments, and differing weather conditions simulating actual field, casualty evacuation, or aeromedical evacuation missions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) certification
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS-I) certification
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor (ACLS-I) certification
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor (PALS-I) certification
  • Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) through National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) or Defense Health Agency, Joint Trauma System (DHA-JTS). If not current, personnel are required to complete TCCC within six weeks of onboarding
  • Contractor Personnel shall be required to attend the Special Operations Advanced Tactical Practitioner (SO-ATP) course and obtain certification. Attendance shall occur at the first available offering upon onboarding.
  • Minimum of 1 year in the field and a combat deployment
  • Experience in career fields such as Pararescue (PJ), Special Operations Combat Medic graduates (18D/68WW1), Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsman (SOIDC), or Special Operations-Independent Medical Technician (SO-IDMT)
  • Experience that is commiserate with the above-listed career fields will be considered
  • Operational and combat medic experience in a special operations setting
  • Must have an active secret security clearance  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Special Operations Advanced Tactical Practitioner (SO-ATP)
  • Will consider instructor with BLS-P, ACLS-P, and PALS-P certifications with the understanding the "Instructor" certs will be earned prior to beginning on contract
