Medical Lab Technician (MLT)

Location: Columbia, SC 29220
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 3x12 Hours | 36 Hours/Week
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Pay Rate:
Local: $35–$40/hr
Traveler: $35–$40/hr

Required Qualifications:

• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) experience — Required
• Generalist laboratory experience — Required
• Blood Bank experience — Required
• EPIC experience — Required
• Previous travel healthcare experience — Required
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Strong laboratory testing and specimen-processing skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
• Ability to work night shifts and every-other-weekend coverage

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory testing and analysis according to established procedures
• Work as a laboratory generalist across multiple clinical laboratory areas
• Perform blood bank testing and related procedures
• Collect, process, prepare, and analyze patient specimens
• Operate laboratory equipment and perform quality-control procedures
• Review test results for accuracy and report critical or abnormal findings
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
• Ensure proper specimen identification, handling, processing, and storage
• Follow laboratory safety, infection-control, and quality-assurance standards
• Collaborate with laboratory staff, nurses, physicians, and healthcare professionals
• Maintain compliance with laboratory policies and procedures
• Utilize EPIC for documentation and laboratory-related workflows
