Job Description:

Vitalant is hiring an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientists to bring skilled technical support to our high complexity testing reference laboratories. Regardless of your experience in this field, we have a position tailored to your skill level.

What to Expect

Location: 6930 West Charleston Blvd Las Vegas, NV

Base Wage: $35.39 / hour - $46.80 / hour plus applicable shift differentials.
Work Schedule:  EVE Wednesday - Saturday 3:00 pm - 1:30 am

As a Med Lab Scientist, you'll get to:

• Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and cross match.
• Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
• Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, participate in quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.

Experience

We are open to MLS I-III

MLS III-$45.40 - $46/80 / Hour 

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required. 
• Must satisfy CLIA equivalent for high complexity testing required. 
• Certification as a Medical Technologist or Blood Banking Technologist (BB) by a recognized certifying agency required.
• Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) preferred.
• Three years of laboratory testing experience required. 
• One year of Reference Lab/IRL experience preferred. 
• Two years of experience in a lead or charge capacity required. 

MLS II $39.48 - $40.70 / Hour

• Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB by a recognized certifying agency required.
•  Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or BB Certification required.
• Experience in developing and conducting formal training preferred.
• Experience with LIS/BECs software programs preferred

MLS I $35.39/Hour

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required or equivalent education, training and/or experience with certification as a
• Medical Technologist by a recognized certifying agency.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB by a recognized certifying agency required (or must receive certification within 12 months).
• 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience meeting Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist educational requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required or equivalent education, training and/or experience with certification as a Medical Technologist by a recognized certifying agency (ASCP/AHN MLS )

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB by a recognized certifying agency required.

• Must have / be eligible for Nevada Clinical Lab Scientist License.
• Must have/ be eligible for Nevada General Supervisor of a Licensed Laboratory license.

EXPERIENCE

• 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience meeting Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist educational requirements.
