Medical Park Family Care has an opening for a Full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to join our team. Medical Park has been an independent family practice clinic for over 50 years.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for specimen collection, processing, test performance, and test result reporting in a moderately complex clinical laboratory, as defined by (CLIA '88) 42 CFR 493. Perform all duties in accordance with HIPAA Privacy Compliance and Hitech Act regulations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Meets the minimum qualifications of testing personnel in a moderately complex Laboratory, as defined in 493.1489 of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA'88). Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by Medical Park Family Care. Follow the testing personnel responsibility standard as defined in 493.1495 of CLIA '88. Perform and document all required quality control activities. Perform and record all required instrument maintenance and calibration activities. Follow the Laboratory's established procedures whenever test systems are not within the Laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance. Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results. Prepare specimens for sending out to various Reference Laboratories. Disseminate test results to the appropriate individuals and departments. Perform or assist with specimen collection. Adhere to Medical Park Family Care, Inc. policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Director.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science or Associate Degree in Medical Technology or higher from an accredited program.

EXPERIENCE: Experience conducting testing in a moderate complexity CLIA licensed clinical laboratory.

REQUIREMENTS: Board Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent.

Pay: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour depending on experience and education
