Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – Full-Time, Night Shift (7‑On/7‑Off)

Vernon Health is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our Laboratory Services team. In this full‑time role, you will perform a broad range of laboratory testing across multiple departments and patient age groups. You’ll analyze and report results from various specimen types, participate in quality improvement activities, and support day‑to‑day lab operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional patient care.

Position Details

Schedule: 7‑On / 7‑Off

• Weekdays: 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday)
• Weekends: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (Saturday, Sunday)
• Rotating holidays required

This schedule provides a unique opportunity for work‑life balance and extended periods of time off.

What You’ll Do

• Perform laboratory testing across all major departments
• Analyze, interpret, and report results with accuracy and efficiency
• Work independently during night shifts
• Support quality improvement initiatives and operational workflows
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards

Qualifications

• Education: Doctoral, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution; or have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Certification: ASCP certification preferred; CPR certification required
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience strongly preferred
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
