Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or equivalent from an accredited certifying body.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and CLIA.
  • Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strong understanding of microbiology, hematology, chemistry, and immunology testing procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced certification or specialization in areas such as molecular diagnostics, cytotechnology, or histotechnology.
  • Experience working in a high-volume clinical laboratory or hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with laboratory automation and advanced diagnostic instrumentation.
  • Additional training in quality management systems or laboratory accreditation processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated through previous laboratory research or projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids using automated and manual techniques.
  • Ensure proper specimen collection, labeling, and handling to maintain sample integrity and prevent contamination.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Document and report test results accurately and promptly to physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards, including quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and continuing education to stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to discuss test results and provide technical expertise when necessary.
