Job Details

We are seeking an associate to join our litigation team with a focus on defending professional liability matters involving healthcare providers and institutions. This role provides the opportunity to work on complex, high-exposure cases that require a strong grasp of both legal strategy and technical subject matter.

You will be involved in all phases of litigation, from early case assessment through resolution, and will work closely with experienced attorneys on case strategy and execution. The position offers meaningful responsibility early on, with the expectation that you will take an active role in managing matters and interacting with clients.

Responsibilities

Handle a range of litigation matters involving professional liability and related claims
Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other court filings
Participate in depositions, hearings, and case strategy development
Assist with discovery, including document review and management
Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation and trial support
Collaborate with team members and contribute to overall case strategy

Qualifications

At least 2 years of litigation experience in a law firm or similar environment
Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities
Experience with civil litigation processes, including discovery and motion practice
Exposure to defense-side work or complex litigation is a plus
Background or interest in healthcare-related matters is preferred

Requirements

Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
Commitment to developing litigation skills and professional growth
