The role

A well-established regional defense firm is looking for a medical malpractice associate to join their New Jersey office on a hybrid basis. You'll work across complex med mal cases from inception through trial, with real courtroom exposure and a varied caseload including mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and hearings.

What you'll be doing

Defending complex medical malpractice matters through to trial and appeal, developing litigation strategy, drafting dispositive motions and trial briefs, managing discovery and expert witness preparation, advising clients on risk assessment and exposure, building direct client relationships, reviewing complex medical records, expert testimony, and scientific evidence

What we're looking for

2–5 years of defense litigation experience, ideally in medical malpractice and/or general liability, active NJ bar licence in good standing (required)Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload, prior experience representing hospitals, physicians, insurers, or healthcare systems is a plus, ability to travel for court and client meetings as needed
