About This Role As a Medical Office Secretary at NVRH within the Pulmonology Clinic, you will play a vital role in supporting daily operations and ensuring a positive patient experience. Working under the direction of the Practice Operations Director, you will manage a variety of administrative and clerical responsibilities while serving as a key point of contact between patients, providers, and staff. Key Responsibilities Provide front-line customer service by answering calls, routing messages, and coordinating communication between patients and the care team Register and check out patients, ensuring accurate entry of demographics, insurance, and patient information while collecting co-pays and balances Support clinical operations by processing referrals, prior authorizations, medical records requests, and diagnostic orders Manage provider schedules, including appointment booking, rescheduling, cancellations, and follow-up on no-shows while supporting team-based care Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Prior customer service experience required; medical office experience preferred Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Skills Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health records Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure Familiarity with medical terminology Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately About NVRH Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, in the Northeast Kingdom.
