The University of California, San Francisco is looking for a 3-year fellowship-trained Hematologist Oncologist to staff one of its several affiliates in the Bay Area. This particular position will be for somebody interested in covering a broad range of malignant disorders including solid tumors, hematologic cancers and non-malignant (Classic) hematological problems.
Clinical Responsibilities
You will be responsible for providing comprehensive acute and chronic oncologic and hematologic care to patients, make judgments as to the appropriate specialty referrals and consultations, admit patients to the regional hospitals as necessary and refer to UCSF primary hospitals for tertiary/quaternary care as indicated. All care must be provided with maximum respect for the dignity of the patient and consideration of the cost of the care.
A 100% FTE position will work eight (8) half-day (four hour) clinical sessions per week located at the Practice site; a less than 100% FTE position will work proportionally less. Productivity will be assessed by several factors: achievement of the annually established productivity standards using work RVUs (based on MGMA targets) and adjusted panel size. Additional metrics to assess performance include standards of excellence in patient satisfaction and quality metric targets as determined in collaboration with the Chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology and other UCSF clinical leadership. During your first year, these targets will take into account the necessary ramp up period of your new practice and will be adjusted accordingly and shared with you. We will allocate an additional 20% for administrative time to manage your patient panel at the clinical practice, participate in team activities and after-hours coverage in your full-time capacity.
