About the Role
We're seeking a Medical Optometrist to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of non-surgical eye conditions. This role focuses on medical eye care — including retinal disease, inflammatory eye disorders, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma management, and ocular complications of systemic illness — within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess vision and ocular health
- Diagnose and manage eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other ocular conditions
- Prescribe medications, therapeutic treatments, and corrective lenses as needed
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers on patient referrals and co-management
- Educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options
- Maintain accurate, compliant patient records
- Stay current with advancements in optometry and ocular disease management
What You Bring
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
- OD residency or relevant clinical experience preferred
- Valid Minnesota Optometry license preferred
- Experience in medical optometry and ocular disease management preferred
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- A collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
