Our client is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Physicist (Ph.D or M.S.)  to join a group of five radiation oncology centers located in the North Dallas Region this position is housed at the Texas Oncology clinic in Flower Mound, Texas

While operationally independent day-to-day, each center collaborates as five fully staffed, clinics in the North Dallas area (McKinney, Plano, Denison, Denton, and Flower Mound) through sharing of a common, single ARIA database for record and verify, Eclipse Planning System, (conventional and SRS/SBRT), Rad Calc 2nd check program, Profiler, SNC Physics Software, and 3D scanning system.




We have the following treatment and imaging equipment: Six Varian linacs, two Elekta Nucletron HDRs, three Nucletron Flexitron HDR, five GE CTs, one PET/CT and a mobile PET/CT are used to treat an average of 160-170 patients a day at the five sites.




The Team:

Combined, the fully staffed region will consist of five board certified radiation oncologists, seven ABR certified physicists, 1 non-certified medical physicist, seven certified medical dosimetrists, and five chief therapists.




The essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Full range of on-site clinical medical physics support to include HDR, SRS, SBRT.
  • Support and participate in physics support for the North Dallas Region
  • Occasionally, as needed, travel to sites within the region for on-site physics support
  • Determines the need for, specifies, and accesses dosimetric and treatment planning equipment including, but not limited to, measurement instruments to calibrate all treatment equipment and monitoring devices, computerized treatment planning systems, computerized water phantom systems with appropriate ionization chambers and diodes, etc.
  • Advises and consults with physicians to provide advice or direction to technical staff when patients are being planned or treated.

 




Qualifications




Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Applicants must have a Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited college or university. 
  • Must be ABR certified, or have completed a CAMPEP approved residency and be board eligible, and have working experience in a clinical environment. 
  • Texas Medical Board license required or must be obtained.
