Medical Physicist - Radiation Therapy

A large, award-winning, state-of-the-art, top teaching hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Physicist to join their Radiation Department.

Location: Palm Springs, CA

Schedule: Days 

Patient population: Adults and geriatric 

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with radiation oncologists and dosimetrist to develop individualized radiation treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Perform routine and periodic quality assurance on radiation therapy equipment (e.g., linear accelerators, imaging systems) to ensure precise and accurate delivery of radiation.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards, protocols, and regulations.
• Calculate, verify, and monitor radiation doses to ensure treatments are delivered with optimal accuracy while minimizing harm to surrounding healthy tissue.
• Stay abreast of the latest advances in radiation therapy technologies, including emerging treatment modalities, and contribute to research initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
• Work closely with clinical staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that the treatment plans are executed safely and effectively.
