Position Statement The Primary Care Scheduler cordially and efficiently receives patient phone calls to ascertain and manage the patients needs while maintaining providers schedules in an effective manner. Key Responsibilities: Answers telephones, takes, and relays accurate messages via electronic health record system, and complies with requests according to established policies and procedures. Performs call confirmations for appointments. Updates schedules, books appointments, and coordinates appointments with other disciplines as needed. Reviews no shows and missed appointments and notifies patients by phone and/or letter. Calls patients to reschedule any missed appointments. Manages patients requests for immunizations, and med lists, etc. Inputs non-clinical data at the request of nursing staff and manager. Sends outgoing faxes and distributes incoming faxes and mail. Assists with patient mailings and prepares outgoing mail. Prepare normal lab and x-ray result letters to patients. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: High school diploma required. Possesses excellent organizational skills paired with verbal written and communication skills. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively with all staff. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Shows competency in computer skills. Understands medical terminology. Health care setting experience in a clinic setting is preferred.

North Country Hospital is a private, nonprofit acute care community hospital serving twenty-two communities in a two-county area in the rural Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. It is licensed by the State of Vermont Department of Health and is certified by the Department of Health and Human Services as a provider under the Medicare program, It is also accredited by the Center for Medicare Services (CMS), which assures that the hospital meets the highest standards of medical care.

Founded in 1919 by a group of area citizens, Orleans Country Memorial Hospital opened in 1924, the present North Country Hospital, opened in 1974.
