Position Purpose:
To provide a variety of clerical duties to the physicians and other members of the physicians' office which includes receiving patients and visitors, determining their needs and directing them according; Answers telephones, take messages, schedules appointments, receives payments and issues receipts, and performs routine filing.
Position Qualifications:
Requires skill to balance and reconcile figures and the ability operate a computer, copy machine, calculator, and fax machine.
Requires the ability to greet patients and answer the phone in a pleasant and helpful manner; knowledge or appropriate grammar and spelling, and the ability to obtain and/or verify patient demographic and insurance information.
Requires the ability to: File/Scan materials, read, understand and follow oral and written instructions; speak clearly and concisely, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, patients, employees, and the public.
Knowledge of medical office and business office procedures, third party payers, and use of the office site computer system for registration and appointment scheduling preferred
Some knowledge of CPT and/or ICD-9 CODING preferred
Maintain a current and valid driver's license
High School Diploma or GED
