Overview
This position exists to prioritize the day-to-day activities of Medical Record clerical support.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)
  • Assembles, analyzes, creates medical records according to guidelines with 98% accuracy.
  • Completes request for Release of Information within established timelines.
  • Assists in Transcription for clerical purposes as needed.
  • Assists physicians with chart completion process.
  • Files and retrieves Medical Records using the terminal digit numbering system.
  • Reconciles medical record discharge report with medical records picked up from units/departments.
  • Retrieves discharged medical records (inpatient and outpatient) from departments within the Methodist Hospitals.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)
    • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    • Knowledge of the medical record numbering system.
    • Must demonstrate good communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Must be professional, courteous, and have a positive attitude.
    EDUCATION
    • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
