Job Title: Medical Records Clerk
Reports to: AR Manager
Summary: The Medical Record Clerk will support and assist the AR team to retrieve medical records for all payer denial account work queues. Works closely with the AR Specialist team to retrieve requested medical records for claims that have been denied due to missing medical records. Submits medical records to each payer with specific instructions provided by the AR team with the necessary documents for specific payers to have the claims processed.

Education/Experience: Understanding of healthcare billing/claims process. Must have understanding of medical terminology and clerical experience. The ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. The ability to multi-task or shift responsibilities as department needs change. The ability to identify trends or issues and escalate them through the proper channels. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High school diploma or GED and 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Strong attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of Cerner Powerchart, EPIC software is a plus.
