Medical Records Clerk Opportunity - Full Time

HRI Hospital is 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs. The Medical Records Clerk processes requests for release of medical record information, assuring the confidentiality of medical records. Processes requests for forms and medical records from patient units. Assists and supports the Medical Record Department by performing various clerical functions and assuring smooth functioning of daily departmental operations. Organizes and files patient medical charts.

Responsibilities

Preparing charts for patient discharge process.

Setting up medical records for newly admitted patients.

Facilitating completion of required documents in patient record

Following established guidelines for handling patient legal status issues and court documents.

Maintaining sufficient amounts of stock in accordance with departmental needs

Qualifications Requirements

High School Diploma or equivlent required

1 year of clerical experience required, preferably in a medical or healthcare environment

Excellent interpersonal skills

Strong organizational and follow-up skills

Basic computer skills

Professional and caring demeanor

Basic knowledge and terminology of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnosis and treatment

Able to handle moderate stress in meeting deadlines
