Our client, a Behavioral Health company, is looking for a Medical Records Clerk for their Leland, NC location.

Responsibilities:
- Ensures accurate, complete, and compliant medical records through review, documentation, and timely preparation for billing; may perform coding using ICD-10/CPT. Essential Functions
- Prepare, review, and maintain medical records for accuracy and completeness.
- Process record requests and ensure proper release of information.
- Analyze records, assign deficiencies, and abstract clinical data.
- Manage filing, storage, retrieval, and audits of records.
- Maintain patient index and support transcription/documentation processes.
- May assign diagnostic and procedural codes.
- Follow policies, maintain confidentiality, and complete required training.
- Ensure reliable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ year medical records experience (psychiatric setting preferred).
- Knowledge of HIM practices, confidentiality, and documentation standards.
- RHIT or RHIA preferred.
