About the Role:
Lagstein Law Firm is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Collector to join our dynamic personal injury team in Los Angeles, CA. This is a critical role where your organizational skills directly impact the success of our clients' cases. Responsibilities:
  • Request, track, and obtain medical records, bills, and related documentation from hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records in the case management system
  • Follow up persistently with medical providers to ensure timely receipt of records
  • Review incoming records for completeness and accuracy before forwarding to attorneys
  • Communicate with clients, medical offices, and legal staff regarding records status
  • Prepare and send HIPAA-compliant authorizations and record request letters
  • Log and track all outstanding requests and deadlines to support case timelines
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in medical records retrieval, personal injury law, or a related legal/medical field preferred
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical record request procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume caseload
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to meet strict deadlines
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
