Job Summary
Seeking a customer-focused Medical Records Specialist to support Maricopa County Clinical Services. The role involves patient registration, payment collection, electronic medical records management, and providing excellent customer service while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Register patients and collect payments.
Prepare and maintain electronic medical records.
Gather patient information and accurately update records.
Follow HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
Provide professional, compassionate customer service.
Perform general computer and administrative duties.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of experience registering patients in an electronic medical records (EMR) system within a healthcare setting.
Strong customer service and computer skills.
Experience with HIPAA compliance.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Experience gathering patient data and creating medical records.
Cashiering/cash-handling experience.
Public Health or Community Health Worker certification or enrollment in an eligible program.
