Medical Scheduler
Location: Berkeley, CA
Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Position Overview:
The Scheduler II is responsible for coordinating and maintaining schedules for specialized procedures within an assigned department. This role partners closely with physician offices and internal departments to ensure seamless coordination of services, including verifying room and equipment availability. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, builds positive relationships with patients and care teams, and maintains strict adherence to compliance and patient privacy standards.
Responsibilities:
Scheduling & Coordination
Coordinate and manage schedules for specialized procedures
Collaborate with physicians' offices and internal departments to ensure efficient service delivery
Confirm availability of rooms, equipment, and resources as needed
Administrative Support
Answer incoming calls and greet patients and visitors professionally
Prepare, update, and maintain accurate patient scheduling documentation
Ensure all records are complete, organized, and up to date
Compliance & Confidentiality
Follow all departmental, local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information (PHI) at all times
Safety & Organization
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Ensure workspaces and files are properly managed and free of clutter
Team Support
Build collaborative relationships with team members and other departments
May assist with training or onboarding of new staff
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 1 year of recent, relevant experience (healthcare or scheduling preferred)
Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnostic testing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address routine issues

Pay Details: $24.00 per hour
