The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for medical and scientific initiatives on behalf of Puma Biotechnology in selected therapeutic areas and geographical regions. S/he develops ongoing professional relationships with national and regional healthcare practitioners and provides educational support on current and forthcoming therapies developed and commercialized by Puma Biotechnology. S/he ensures access to current medical and scientific information on Puma Biotechnology products and areas of therapeutic interest to oncology key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), private and public payers, centers of excellence, and other decision makers.
Major Duties / Responsibilities
Identify, develop and maintain relationships with national and regional medical and scientific thought leaders and centers of excellence
Engage national and regional thought leaders to align interests, discuss research and medical information, and participate in scientific exchange and education about current and emerging therapies
Collect field insights and intelligence, and interpret and communicate key relevant information to define or update the organization's scientific and business strategies as they relate to the brand(s), disease states, competitors and overall therapeutic knowledge
As needed, support advisory board meetings, roundtables, and other defined HCP engagements
Represent Puma Biotechnology at scientific educational events, programs, medical meetings and scientific conferences
Develop, maintain and communicate scientific, clinical and therapeutic expertise on Puma Biotechnology's commercialized and investigational products
Provide appropriate scientific, clinical, and educational support for internal and external clients
Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate delivery of medical and scientific information
Address unsolicited requests for neratinib or alisertib medical information from HCPs
Support training for Medical Affairs as well as Commercial by participating in Speaker and Sales Representative Training
Provide research trial site support by supporting the identification, evaluation and screening qualified research sites for clinical investigation
Develop and maintain relationships with trial sites and across relevant referral networks to increase awareness of Puma's clinical trials to maximize their success in reaching their enrollment goals
Provide scientific and liaison support for investigator-initiated research that aligns with Puma's medical strategy; facilitate review and track progress of proposals
Collaborate cross-functionally, following all compliance guidelines, with regional field leadership
Stay current of local laws and guidelines, codes of practice and Puma policies relevant to Medical Affairs and Clinical Development activities
Adhere to internal policies and external guidance for distribution of scientific information and scientific exchange

Required Education and Professional Experience
Preferred Education and Experience
An advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) in a scientific-related discipline preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered.
Experience in breast and/or lung cancer
Knowledge of regulatory, compliance, commercial, and clinical issues affecting the pharmaceutical and managed care industries
Knowledge of customer segments and market dynamics
Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, approximately 8:30 AM to 5 PM, depending on the schedule for the day. This position occasionally requires working outside of these hours and may extend to evenings and weekends as business needs require.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional, virtual environment, working from a remote location, usually the employee's home.
Travel
Ability to travel up to 60% with primary residence within the assigned geographical area.
Physical Demands
This is a remote position with employees working from a home office. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this position. The physical demands of the home office are normally associated with extended amounts of time sitting and using office equipment (including a computer, keyboard, and mouse), standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and hearing. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Compensation Range
The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $200,000 per year. Higher compensation may be available for someone with advanced skills and/or experience.

Any offer would include a competitive base salary (estimate shared above), an annual bonus target, and a robust benefits package. Actual individual pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
