Astrana Health is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated part-time Bilingual Medical Scribe to support our clinical team at Southern California Heart Center and help deliver exceptional patient care. In this role, you’ll work closely with providers to document patient encounters, update diagnosis codes, manage prescriptions, and follow up on complex cases. When you’re not scribing, you’ll have the opportunity to build your clinical experience by assisting with patient intake, EKGs, and heart monitor placement, as well as gaining exposure to administrative functions such as insurance verification, medical records, and scheduling.

What You'll Do


  • Accurately document patient encounters and clinical information for providers
  • Update and maintain accurate diagnosis codes and patient records
  • Send, verify, and follow up on patient prescriptions as directed
  • Monitor complex patient cases and communicate updates to providers as needed
  • Assist with patient intake and other clinical support activities
  • Perform EKGs and assist with heart monitor placement
  • Support providers with additional clinical tasks when not actively scribing
  • Assist with insurance verification, medical records preparation, and appointment scheduling
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
  • Provide professional and compassionate support to patients and the clinical team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one (1) year of medical scribing experience preferred
  • Fluent in Cantonese and/or Mandarin strongly preferred
  • Strong computer and typing skills, with a typing speed of 60+ WPM
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
You’ll be great for this role if you have: 
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Completion of a medical scribe certificate program
  • Experience with medical transcription
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, CPT and ICD coding, and HIPAA regulations

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions


  • This position is onsite at 506 W. Valley Blvd., Unit #100, San Gabriel, CA 91776.
  • Schedule: Part-time, minimum 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Specific schedule to be determined based on department needs. 
  • The total compensation target pay range for this role is: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour. The salary range represents our national target range for this role.
