Position Details:
Full-time position
Monday-Friday
8-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch
Available shifts:
7:00 AM-3:30 PM
7:30 AM-4:00 PM
8:00 AM-4:30 PM
No weekends
No on-call responsibilities
Federal holidays observed
Primary Responsibilities:
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
Answer incoming telephone calls and assist Veterans with scheduling and general inquiries
Check patients in and out while updating demographic information
Enter and maintain accurate information in the VA's computerized patient record system
Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to support efficient patient care
Perform general clerical and administrative duties
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with VA policies and procedures
Work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Six (6) months of clerical, administrative, office support, or customer service experience OR one year of education beyond high school
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
Ability to learn and use electronic medical record systems
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
Dependable with the ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a medical office, hospital, or outpatient clinic
Medical scheduling experience
Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR)
Previous VA or federal healthcare experience is preferred
