    Description

    Job Title: Medical Support Assistant (MSA)
    Specialty: Outpatient scheduling and community care consult processing.
    Place of Work (City/State): work remotely within 50 miles of one of the listed VA facilities below.
    Location: One of eight facility catchment areas.
    • Fort Harrison, MT, 37 FTE
    • Cheyenne, WY and Loveland, CO, 10 FTE combined
    • Sheridan, WY, 12 FTE
    • Aurora, CO, 57 FTE
    • Grand Junction, CO, 11 FTE
    • Muskogee, OK and Tulsa, OK, 18 FTE combined
    • Oklahoma City, OK, 27 FTE
    • Salt Lake City, UT, 28 FTE
    Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility of one more year extension.
    Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding federal holidays.
    Credentialing/Onboarding Time: 6 to 8 weeks.
    Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    Experience Needed: Minimum 6 months of customer service experience.
    Special Skills Needed: Basic computer skills, typing speed of at least 50 WPM, basic medical terminology knowledge, oral and written proficiency in English.
    Responsibilities:
    • Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, and pre- and post-appointment contacts
    • Process community care consults through HSRM and PPMS
    • Validate and update patient demographic information
    • Integrate health and administrative information into CPRS and VistA
    • Screen and respond to phone inquiries
    • Coordinate and authorize Veteran care with community providers when the VA cannot supply timely care
    • Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams daily
