Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The UNC Adams School of Dentistry Division of Comprehensive Oral Health houses several disciplines including, Periodontology, Dental Hygiene, Comprehensive Dentistry, Operative Dentistry/BioMaterials, Prosthodontics, and Endodontics. The Endodontics discipline is committed to advancing oral health through therapies focused on preserving the natural dentition.

Position Summary

The Medical Support Technician will provide clinical support to our faculty providers, residents, dental assistants and hygienists. Tasks include but are not limited to: routine assembling and preparing supplies and instruments needed for procedures; performing sterilization according to OSHA standards; infection control; organization and inventory of supplies; maintaining dental equipment and medical supplies; cleaning operating room settings as needed. When needed this position will assist the existing front desk personnel with their duties under their supervision.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Completion of an accredited training program in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licensure.

Management Preferences

Demonstrated experience working in a team environment, and providing support in clinical setting. Some coursework or clinical training in a medical or dental setting.
