    Shifts Available: Days

    Hours: 12-hour shifts - 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

    Location: Saint John Hospital - Leavenworth, KS

    Medical‑Surgical LPNs play a vital and dynamic role in delivering compassionate, high‑quality care to patients with a wide spectrum of medical needs. From managing complex, acute illnesses to supporting post‑operative recovery, they provide hands‑on nursing care that truly impacts patient outcomes. In this fast‑paced, team‑oriented hospital setting, Med‑Surg LPNs rely on their strong clinical skills, sharp critical‑thinking abilities, and unwavering commitment to patient advocacy. These LPNs are essential partners in coordinating care, anticipating patient needs, and fostering a supportive environment where patients and families feel informed, reassured, and cared for every step of the way.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

    • Provide direct patient care, including hygiene support, mobility assistance, and comfort measures.
    • Monitor vital signs, document observations, and report changes in patient condition.
    • Administer medications as prescribed and observe for reactions or side effects.
    • Perform wound care, dressing changes, and assist with procedures within the state LPN scope.
    • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and the care team to support individualized care plans.
    • Assist with discharge planning and provide patient/family education on treatments and recovery.
    • Follow infection control practices and maintain accurate patient records.

    Qualifications

    Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

    • Current and valid state license
    • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
    • IV certification upon hire (state specific)
