What Youll Do
Provide expert nursing care to hematology and oncology patients, including BMT and acute leukemia cases
Assist with bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies
Administer medications using barcode medication administration and Alaris infusion pumps
Monitor patient responses and ensure safety with equipment like SCD machines and feeding pumps
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care
Document treatments and patient progress accurately in Epic electronic health records
Float and cover weekends as scheduled, with flexibility to support unit needs
What You Need
Required:
Valid RN license in Louisiana
BLS certification; ACLS preferred
Experience in hematology/medical oncology nursing
Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, including weekends
Preferred:
Ontario Nurses Society (ONS) certification or similar
Previous experience with CVC placement and bone marrow biopsies

This assignment is at a dedicated 7-bed positive pressure wing specializing in BMT and acute leukemia. The unit cares for complex hematology and oncology patients, utilizing advanced equipment such as Alaris IV pumps and barcode medication systems. You will be part of a collaborative team providing high-quality care in a supportive environment, with opportunities for first-time travelers and dedicated orientation.
