Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as a traveler at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: Must have strong ortho experience. Must have total joint replacement experience and not just fractures.
Special Requests: Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed. If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from a perm facility. For current or previous employees, cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Candidates may submit to only one position at a time across the entire WVU system. Previous permanent candidates must have been gone for 2 years. Previous travelers who worked at the facility for 1 full year must have been gone for 2 years.
Unit Details: Common cases include orthopedic joint replacements and fractures. Telemetry is present, but RNs are not required to read strips. RNs are not required to titrate drips, and there are no common titratable or set-rate drips.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule. Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation.
Floating Requirements: May float to 7E, 7W, 10W, and 10E.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
