Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. A limited amount of block scheduling will be approved. RTO is needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
Shift & Scheduling: Shift times are 0630-1900 or 1830-0700. Travelers will be scheduled. Typically every other weekend, though additional coverage may be needed based on department demand. Schedules are posted 6 weeks in advance, with the manager making adjustments as needed. 2-3 holidays are required from Thanksgiving to New Year’s.
Floating Requirements: Floats to other medical-surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed.
Unit Details: Common diagnoses and patient types include MedSurg/Tele, joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, orthopedic trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive. RNs titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips. Common titratable and/or set-rate drips include PCA pumps. Telemetry technicians will interpret strips; RNs should have some telemetry awareness. Mechanical lifts are available in every other room. This unit typically has multiple discharges and admissions in one day. The unit serves patients of all cultures, including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese.
7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
