Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <35 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers are accepted, dependent on experience; they must have a strong background in medical-surgical/telemetry (MST). Experience reading telemetry strips is required. Experience with chest tubes, tracheostomies, peripheral IV starts, drains and tubes, and PCA pumps is required. Drip management is required, including amiodarone (occasionally), fentanyl PCA, ketamine PCA, Dilaudid PCA, and heparin.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation is every other weekend. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. No call.
Unit Details: Patient population includes general medicine patients with diabetes mellitus and gastrointestinal, respiratory, and renal conditions. Required unit care includes wound/dressing changes and lab draws. CNA patient ratio is 8:1. Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing systems are used on the unit. Telemetry monitoring is centralized.
Floating Requirements: The clinician floats to other MedSurg units.
14 days maximum time off
1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
Proof of identification required

• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
