Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <35 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: PCA, surgical drains, wound care, and telemetry cardiac rhythm interpretation are required skills. Candidates without Cardizem/Amiodarone gtt experience will be accepted but must be comfortable learning.

Unit Details: Patient population includes general medical patients and some cardiac, pneumonia, UTI, chest pain, and fluid overload cases. The CNA-to-patient ratio is 1:8. CNA support includes vital-sign and blood-glucose checks, hourly safety rounds, and activities of daily living (ADLs). The charge nurse is free-floating for the majority of the time but may occasionally have a full assignment. A receptionist/HUC supports the unit. Phlebotomy support is available for peripheral blood draws. RNs start their own IVs; no IV/VAT team is available. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7; RNs must page for assistance when needed. Hospitalist and intensivist coverage is available 24/7. Patient rooms do not have monitors; telemetry monitoring is provided on the unit, and RNs read and interpret strips during their shifts. Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing. Unit-specific equipment and care include PCAs, trachs, and complex wound care.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. No call.

Floating Requirements: Floats to Rehab, 4 Ardmore, 10 Reynolds, 9 Reynolds, 5 Ardmore, Burn-10 North, and Throughput Unit.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
