Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Travel experience is preferred, but strong candidates without travel experience will be considered.

Required Credentials: - No background hits.

Special Requests: - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. - Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. - Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. - A limited amount of block scheduling will be approved.

Unit Details: - Patient population includes strokes, stable neurological deficits, post-neurosurgery patients, and other Med Surg overflow. - Common diagnoses and patient types include joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbations, prostatectomies, cellulitis, sepsis, orthopedic trauma, gastrointestinal bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive. - RNs titrate heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine drips. - Common titratable or set-rate drips include PCA pumps. - Telemetry technicians interpret telemetry; RNs should have some telemetry awareness. - Mechanical lifts are available in every other room. - The unit typically has multiple discharges and admissions in one day. - The unit serves patients of all cultures, including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese.

Shift & Scheduling: - At least every other weekend, but additional weekend shifts may be required based on unit needs and census. - 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years.

Floating Requirements: - May float to other medical-surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed.

Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
