Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.
• Experience with Meditech is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Willis-Knighton Health System.

Required Skills/Experience: - First-time travelers must have 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care. - Wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, hemodialysis catheter care, fistulas, PCA, pain management.
Required Credentials: - Must pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN).
Special Requests: - Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously permanent staff. - Up to 7 days of RTO; must extend 1 week for every full week requested off. - Only 1 weekend of RTO may be requested per 13-week contract.
Unit Details: - Brand new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit. - Patient population includes sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and PNA. - Post-op overflow may include total joints (knees, hips, shoulders) and GI/abdominal surgeries (hemicolectomies, bowel resections, etc.). - RN ratio: 1:5-6; nights 1:6. - Charge nurse is typically free floating. - HUC/Secretary support on day shift only. - Phlebotomy is in house; RN draws CVL/PICC/Midline. - IV/VAT team available 7a-3p for PICC placement. - RT, hospitalist, OT, PT, and ST support available in house. - Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.
Shift & Scheduling: - 5/2 schedule (every Wednesday/Thursday). - Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week; this is mandatory. - Every other weekend. - No call. - Will work 2/3 holidays.
Floating Requirements: - Float to any Med/Surg area within the hospital; travelers float first.
7 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
