Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Surgical, postoperative, and early ambulation experience preferred.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. Will consider block scheduling if unit needs are met. RTO is needed upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
Unit Details: Nurse-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. Patient care includes total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urologic procedures, abdominal surgery (laparoscopic appendectomy and bowel resection), bariatrics, and medical overflow. Hemovac and JP drains are frequent, and colostomies are encountered. The unit does not take gynecologic patients (they go to maternity) or cardiac patients (they go to cardiac MS Tele). Occasional heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN are used. A charge nurse is present on both shifts; the night charge nurse occasionally takes a low-acuity assignment. Patient care technician support is available. Nasal cannula is used; respiratory therapists perform treatments. Remote telemetry packs are used, with monitor technicians reading and interpreting strips. Bedside shift report is expected.
Shift & Scheduling: Shift times include 0700-1930 and 1900-0730. The manager makes the schedule. If day/night rotation occurs, 7-7 rotation will not occur more than weekly. Every other weekend. Holidays as needed.
Floating Requirements: The clinician is first to float to medical and telemetry; someone assists with strips there, and the clinician takes medical patients in that area.
7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
