Position Summary
We are seeking the Medical Technician plays a critical support role in our nursing and detox departments, monitoring clients' physical wellbeing, assisting nursing staff, and ensuring a safe, structured environment throughout the detoxification process. This position is ideal for individuals committed to providing direct patient care in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities
Monitor detox clients by obtaining and documenting vital signs every four hours.
Notify the nurse on duty of any significant changes in a client's condition.
Wake clients in a timely and appropriate manner and prepare them for physician rounds.
Document all significant events in client records clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner.
Assist with client admissions and provide orientation to new clients in detox.
Help ensure detox clients attend groups and scheduled programming as able.
Assist clients with maintaining activities of daily living and provide therapeutic listening as needed.
Explain the program schedule and associated activities to clients.
Respond therapeutically to inappropriate client behaviors and maintain professional relationships.
Obtain specimens for urine drug screens and urinalyses for clients and employee candidates.
Assist nurses with phlebotomy and medication administration if qualified.
Transport clients and supplies as assigned and report all client activities to the nurse on duty.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; CNA, Medical Assistant certification, or equivalent healthcare training preferred.
Experience in substance abuse, medical, or behavioral health settings preferred.
CPR certification required.
Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency or crisis situations.
Compassionate, professional demeanor in all client interactions.
