Job Title: Medical Technologist
Location:Cleveland, Ohio
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (08:00 AM – 04:30 PM)

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist for a long-term assignment in Cleveland, Ohio. The ideal candidate will perform and interpret laboratory testing at all complexity levels while maintaining compliance with laboratory quality, regulatory, and safety standards in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing and interpret results accurately across multiple complexity levels
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, reporting, and documentation
- Correlate abnormal laboratory findings with pathological conditions and determine the need for additional testing
- Monitor and verify quality controls, calibrations, and maintenance procedures
- Maintain compliance with CLIA regulations and laboratory quality assurance standards
- Troubleshoot testing discrepancies and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment according to manufacturer specifications
- Maintain accurate and legible laboratory documentation and records
- Participate in proficiency testing and competency assessments
- Communicate laboratory results and specimen requirements to authorized personnel
- Support training and education activities for laboratory staff and students as needed
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical, or Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution required
OR - Must meet CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel
Certifications
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification or certification eligibility preferred through ASCP or AMT
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of laboratory quality control and regulatory standards
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform detailed visual work, including microscope use
- Ability to distinguish color variations accurately
- Fine motor skills and manual dexterity required for specimen handling and equipment operation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting as needed
- Exposure to laboratory chemicals, biohazards, and other clinical materials may occur
