Job Description
- Perform laboratory technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers to ensure proper functionality
- Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents and control
- Perform and document maintenance and quality control procedures on analyzers
- Identify and replenish testing supplies as necessary
- Assist with phlebotomy and processing when needed
- Answer phone calls, maintain logs/records, and maintain computerized databases.
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
- Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
- Maintain a safe work environment including wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- NYS License required
