• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Pay Rate: $40.00 $45.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, varies (requires every other weekend rotation)

Job Summary

We are looking for someone with experience in hematology and using Sysmex and CellaVision systems. Ideally, the candidate should have worked in a large hospital laboratory (600 beds), as our lab is very busy and we need someone who understands the workload and pace. Our facility also includes large neonatal units, and performing differentials accurately is a critical part of our daily operations. Candidates who are not already competent in these areas would require extensive training, which could delay their readiness. Therefore, we prefer someone who has previously handled similar responsibilities and can transition quickly. We also deal with a wide variety of complex samples on a daily basis including turbid specimens, platelet clumps, and abnormal cell findings, so it is important that the candidate is already familiar with managing these challenges.

Required Skills

• CORE Lab experience, particularly in Hematology
• Experience using Sysmex and CellaVision systems
• Experience in a large hospital laboratory (600 beds)
• Ability to perform differentials accurately
• Experience managing complex samples including turbid specimens, platelet clumps, and abnormal cell findings
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within specialty

Education Requirements

• ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification required
• Facility will ONLY consider Medical Laboratory Technologist and Medical Laboratory Scientist Medical Lab Technician will NOT be considered

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• High-volume, fast-paced laboratory environment
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Facility includes large neonatal units
