Job Title: Medical Technologist – Blood Bank

Location: Overland Park, KS

Work Type: Full-Time
Shift: Night Shift | Rotating Weekends
Schedule: Thursday – Sunday (Weekends Only)

Shift Differential:

  • $2/hour for Evenings

  • $3/hour for Nights

  • $3/hour for Weekends

Relocation Assistance: $5,000

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Medical Technologist with Blood Bank experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform waived, moderate, and high complexity laboratory testing

  • Process blood and body fluid specimens accurately

  • Monitor and maintain quality control procedures

  • Investigate abnormal test results

  • Maintain laboratory inventory, reagents, and equipment

  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives

  • Assist with training and orientation of laboratory staff

  • Support evaluation of new methodologies and instrumentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science required

  • ASCP Certification or equivalent required

  • Accepted certifications include MT ASCP, CLS (NCA), BB(ASCP), C(ASCP), I(ASCP), H(ASCP), or M(ASCP)

  • Minimum 1+ years of recent Blood Bank experience in an acute care hospital laboratory

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and blood bank operations

Ideal Candidate:

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

  • Experience in hospital laboratory and blood bank settings

  • Able to work independently in fast-paced environments

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Committed to patient safety and quality laboratory practices
