Job Title: Medical Technologist BloodBank Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Department Name: Lab Req #: 0000238311 Status: Hourly Shift: Night Pay Range: $38.55 - $50.53 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidates educational background, skills, and professional experience.
Responsibilities:
• Performs and interprets routine and complex assays on blood • Prepares blood/blood components for transfusion to a patient • Performs blood types and antibodies identification as well as blood group antigens and compatibility • Performs all related documentation tasks • Participates in evaluating, documenting, and implementing technical assays
Section III Job Qualifications
Education, Training, Certification, and Licensure
Meets education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services laws.
• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (BSMT) • Associate Degree of Science (AAS) or equivalent including clinical rotations • Certified by Category I Agency American Society of Clinical Pathologist, National Certification Agency
