Medical Technologist - Contract

Job Title: Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT)

Duration: 13 Weeks

Location: Atlanta, GA

Schedule:

• Shift: Evenings
• Hours: 40 hours/week (5x8)
• Time: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Weekends: Every other weekend rotation required

Department:

702A – Clinical Laboratory

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist experience within the specialty.
• Strong Microbiology experience required.
• Experience with Cerner EMR/LIS.
• One of the following certifications is required:
  • ASCP
  • AMT
  • AAB
• Hands-on experience using Sysmex and CellaVision systems.

Preferred Experience:

• Recent experience in a large acute care hospital laboratory (approximately 600+ beds).
• Strong competency in:
  • Manual differentials
  • Hematology and microbiology workflows
  • Processing complex specimens, including:
    • Turbid samples
    • Platelet clumps
    • Abnormal cell findings
• Experience working in facilities with high-volume neonatal services is highly preferred.

Additional Information:

• No local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are accepted.
• Only Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS) and Medical Technologists (MT) will be considered.
• Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) are not eligible for this position.
• The ideal candidate should be able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical laboratory with minimal orientation.
