MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST II

POSITION SUMMARY Performs a variety of routine laboratory tests and procedures in chemistry, microbiology, hematology, blood bank or other areas of the clinical laboratory. Participates in quality control, CAP surveys, methods/procedures development, and equipment inspections and calibrations. EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: Minimum Required: Associate Degree in Medical Technology or a science related to clinical medicine with formal hospital-based internship and registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician MLT(ASCP), MLT(AMT), or Medical Technologist, MT(HEW), MT(AMT),MT(HHS). Incumbent will be required to successfully complete a laboratory orientation program. Each applicant who advances to peer interview will be given a competency test which must be completed with accuracy of 80% or higher. Preferred: Same
