Description

Immediate need for a talented Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT/MLS). This is a Fulltime opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Brooksville, FL(Onsite). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: 

  • Hourly Rate: $27.09 – $37.92/hr (based on experience)
  • Night Differential: $2.50/hr
  • Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week
  • On-Call Rate: $2.00/hr
  • Sign-On Bonus: Night Shift – $10,000 | Day Shift – $5,000
  • Relocation Assistance: Case by case basis
  • Shift: Nights – 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM – 8/10/12-hour shifts available (rotating weekends)
  • Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become proficient with information system computer functions relative to job duties
  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in accurate and timely laboratory testing
  • Work in an organized manner per section procedure manual
  • Analyze proficiency testing samples per instructions within allowable time frame
  • Assume responsibility of the department in the absence of the supervisor
  • Consistently complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results
  • Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets
  • Use good judgment and independent thinking in correlation and interpretation of patient results
  • Review pending logs and resolve outstanding workload
  • Perform quality control procedures per protocol and complete necessary documentation
  • Take corrective action when results are not within appropriate guidelines
  • Assist supervisor in meeting department regulatory agency requirements (CAP, etc.)
  • Operate all equipment correctly and perform periodic maintenance
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting to resolve basic malfunctions
  • Assist in monitoring reagents and supply inventories
  • Maintain education and development appropriate for position
  • Handle all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results according to established procedures

Key Requirements and Technology Experience: 

  • Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology preferred
  • State of Florida Technologist License required
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist required
  • Skills: Experience in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology required
  • Rotating weekends required
