Job Description: Medical Technologist MLT - PRN
Prepares, performs, and records testing procedures in accordance with established criteria as assigned with any or all the sections of the Clinical Laboratory.
Job Duties
------------
- Follow the laboratorys procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the coordinator.
- Participate in Laboratory Quality program.
- Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
- Perform tasks at an acceptable pace to ensure the prompt reporting of accurate patient results.
- Communicates the status of pending work to the on-coming shift.
Requirements
------------
- Associate's degree of applied science in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science.
- Preferred Requirements:
• Certification as MLT (AMT), MLS (ASCP), CLT (NCA) or equivalent.
