Medical Technologist
Location: Charlotte, FL
Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Pay: $27.09/hr – $37.92/hr
Shift & Schedule: Nights | Rotating Weekends
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join a hospital-based laboratory team. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic laboratory testing, ensure quality control compliance, troubleshoot laboratory issues, and provide accurate and timely results that support patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Perform clinical laboratory testing across multiple laboratory disciplines.
• Process and analyze patient specimens while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Complete stat testing within established turnaround times.
• Perform quality control procedures and ensure compliance with laboratory standards.
• Troubleshoot specimen, instrument, and testing issues as they arise.
• Review, interpret, validate, and report laboratory results.
• Perform delta checks and correlate laboratory findings with clinical information.
• Monitor pending logs and resolve outstanding laboratory workload items.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety requirements.
• Assist with laboratory workflow coordination and shift operations.
• Provide department support during supervisor absences as needed.
• Associate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Technologist experience in an acute care or high-volume laboratory setting.
• Active Florida Medical Technologist License.
• Experience in one or more laboratory specialties including:
Blood Bank
Hematology
Chemistry
Microbiology
Serology
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and critical-thinking skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
• Generalist laboratory experience across multiple disciplines.
• Experience in hospital-based laboratories.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and regulatory standards.
• Strong independent decision-making abilities.
