Medical Technologist- PRN Position
Cover weekends in Microbiology on a rotational basis and cross-train in another area to help assist coverage
Job Summary:
- Performs routine Microbiology tasks plus assist in another discipline ( to be determined based on expertise)
- Prepares specimens for microscope examination
- Operates laboratory equipment including Vitek, Virtuo, centrifuges, incubators
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Performs a variety of tasks
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- Typically reports to supervisor or manager
Qualifications:
- Requires graduation from an accredited MT program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent ( AMT)
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
