Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Inc. is looking for a friendly Telephone Receptionist to be the welcoming voice of our practice.  We are a multi-location practice, and this role does service all office locations for scheduling and call transfers.  The location to report to is our Cranberry Twp., PA branch.  You can take pride in knowing that you helped improve the lives of children and adults with the rare eye disease strabismus.  Enjoy a predictable work schedule with a great work-life balance, in a comfortable indoor work environment.



Primary Responsibilities:

• Answer inbound calls in a professional and courteous manner
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using EHR software
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, referrals, and general office information
• Accurately collect and update patient demographic and insurance information
• Coordinate communication between patients, families, and clinical staff
• Process prescription refill requests and route messages to appropriate providers
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Field emergency calls and perform triage together with the provider on-site to determine urgency of care

Eligibility Requirements:

• Prior experience in a medical or healthcare receptionist or call center role preferred
• Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) or medical scheduling software
• Strong multitasking ability in a busy, patient-focused environment
• Compassionate and patient demeanor, especially when working with pediatric patients and families
• Knowledge of medical insurance, referrals, and basic billing processes a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent required
